Your oath of office is attached to your notary bond. Sign it in the presence of a notary public, scan it, and save it. You will be asked to upload it when completing the application on the lieutenant governor’s website.

Study for the test.
All notaries who are renewing their notary commissions are required to take the notary test and score 61 points or higher to continue the notary application process on the lieutenant governor’s website. Prepare for the test by reviewing the Study Guide, Notary Code, and any other information listed on the Office of the Utah Lieutenant Governor’s website.

Submit your Utah notary application.
All renewing Utah notary applicants must do the following on the Utah Office of the Lieutenant Governor’s website:
- Complete a renewal notary application.
- Pass the exam.
- Pay the $95 exam and administrative fee.
- Upload a copy of the signed notary bond and notarized oath of office.

Receive your certificate of authority.
Once your application is approved, the Utah Lieutenant Governor’s office will email your certificate of authority. You are required to submit your certificate of authority with a notarized declaration to the stamp vendor to obtain a notary stamp.
